Supplements
Pets need supplements to replace nutrients that may be lacking in their diet. Dry kibble dog and cat foods are mostly made by extrusion which involves heating the kibble to temperatures above 118 degrees unfortunately this process kills of many of the enzymes that aid in digestion. Solid Gold Seameal is one of the best products for adding back digestive enzymes and probiotics along with essential vitamins and minerals. Very few supplements provide all the same benefits in one supplement plus it comes in a powder form which makes it very easy to use for all size pets.

As we all know fat goes rancid unless properly stored so... many pet foods do not provide necessary fatty acids from fish oil and flax seed oil. These fatty acids are necessary to keep pets healthy. Dry, itchy, dandruffy, smelly, shedding pets need more fatty acids in their diet and these nutrients come from fish oil and flax seed oil. Halo Dream Coat is the absolute greatest source for a complete essential fatty acid supplement. I can't find enough good things to say, this is the stuff we use on our cats, dogs and parrots food. Occassionally, I have switched to fish oil for supplementation and to try them out so I can speak to customers about how well they work. My own animals begin showing bad signs within days when taken off Dream Coat like shedding, scratching and body odor. Every pet no matter how healthy or weak should have Dream Coat in their diet for maximum health.
Destructive Pets
I hear a lot about pets who tear up their beds and toys. I often suggest to people they wash the pets soft toys and beds in with the family laundry before giving it to their pet. As for toys that are not washable pets can be taught to play with toys with Mom or Dad and that if they begin destroying the toy it gets taken away and the game ends. It doesn't usually take very long before they learn not to ruin the toys.
Shampoo and Dry Skin

I have recently discovered the amazing Azmira Organic Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner both of which are super gentle, mild and easy to use. Without harsh detergents and fragrances this is milder and definately better than any oatmeal shampoo I have ever used for itchy or dry skin. This product is made of; organic coconut, aloe vera, oatmeal, goldenseal and yucca works like a dream come true for irritated, infected or allergy skin conditions. A side benefit on this Organic Coconut line is that my Yorkshire Terrier coats darkened up to a beautiful gun metal blue and rich reddish-gold where as before they had been silver and pale gold other shampoos had been bleaching out their color and I didn't even know it.
Dental Hygiene
Of all the things we can do to keep dogs and cats healthy dental hygiene is at the top of the list. Plaque and tartar buildup causes gum disease. Gum disease causes the gums to rot and loosen their hold on the teeth this can lead to loose teeth, gaps bacteria can get into around the base of the tooth and damage to the teeth. It is vitally important that your vet keeps a good eye on the status of your pets mouth at each visit. In between veterinary visits brushing pets teeth is a great way to remove bacteria, food and debris that may be stuck in and around the teeth. Raw meaty bones are an excellent chew option that will help clean teeth and chip away tartar and plaque. Rope toys are a lot of fun for a game of tug and the rope acts like floss. Avoid sugary snacks and foods like Kibbles and Bits and Beggin Strips both of these are loaded with sugar. Keep treats simple and healthy raw carrots, raw meaty marrow bones, for tiny dogs a single Cheerio makes a great treat and is low in calories.
Are you strangling your dog?
Harnesses are the best and safest way to attach a leash to your dog. Toy dogs have very fragile throats and can be injured by a collar resulting in what is called "collapsed trachea" where the windpipe gets dented. It is much better to use a harness that keeps the pressure on the dog’s chest. Harnesses are available for all sizes of dogs from 1 pound to 200 pounds.
Pet Persona has the solution!
If your dog is too strong to be walked on a harness, he needs more training to behave on a leash. Very strong dogs may need to have an anti-pull harness which is cruelty free and offers safety for both the walker and the dog without the wrestling and pulling. Halti and Sporn are 2 brand name harnesses available from Pet Persona that can be used on dogs that pull or get unruly when on a leash.
